Power Management Settings

You can access power management settings within Windows or
by running Computer Setup.
To run Computer Setup, turn on or restart the computer and
press
F10
of the screen. Select Computer SetupÆSystem FeaturesÆ
Power Management.
In Windows, double-click the Power icon in Control Panel to
open Power Properties, then click a tab (listed below) to view
or change settings:
NOTE:
power/battery icon in the notification area (system tray) on the
taskbar. In Windows 95, right-click the icon, then click Adjust
Power Properties. In Windows NT, single or double-click the
icon.

You can also open Power Properties from the
Windows Power Properties
Settings
Enable/disable allowing Windows to manage
power, show battery meter on the taskbar, and
other Advanced power features.
Set timeouts for drives when using battery
power or AC power.
Turn off PC Card modems when not in use.
Enable/disable AC Energy Saver and set hard
drive and screen timeouts to conserve power
when connected to an electrical outlet.
Set Hibernation timeout, drive for Hibernation
file, enable/disable Hibernation.
Set battery conservation level and enable/
disable low-battery warning beeps. In
Windows NT, enable/disable CD-ROM Auto
Insert Notification.
Enable/disable Resume Timer and set date
and time to exit (resume) from Suspend.
Display the charge status and location of each
battery pack in the system.
