Using the Built-In Audio Components

Microphone

The internal microphone on the front of the computer has a
standard sensitivity of -50dB, which supports audio input whether
the display is open or closed. The internal microphone is disabled
if an external microphone is connected.

Volume Control

The volume control buttons adjust the volume of the internal
speakers or, if connected, the external speakers, headphones, or
headset. Press the right button to increase the volume, the left
button to decrease the volume, and both buttons to mute the
volume.
Volume can also be controlled in Multimedia Properties. If the
speaker icon does not appear in the lower-right corner of the
taskbar, double-click the Multimedia icon in Control Panel. Click
the option to show volume control on the taskbar.
Whenever you want to adjust volume, you can press the volume
control buttons or click the speaker icon on the taskbar. Maximum
volume occurs when both volume controls are adjusted to their
highest point.

Stereo Speakers

The internal stereo speakers provide quality audio playback for
multimedia applications.
The internal speakers are disabled if headphones, a headset, or
external speakers are connected or if the computer is docked in the
optional ArmadaStation, which has its own internal speakers.
