Setting the User Bit
The user bit can be selected from the date or the time of recording, or an identification code consisting of
8 characters in the hexadecimal system. There are sixteen possible characters: the numbers 0 to 9 and the

letters A to F. The user bit can be output from the HDMI OUT terminal.
Operating modes:
Setting an Hexadecimal Code
1 Open the [User Bit Settings] screen.

• The user bit setting screen appears with an orange selection frame on the leftmost character.
• Select [Reset] to reset the user bit to [00 00 00 00] and return to the previous screen.
2 Select a character you want to change and then select [Î] or [Í] to change it as necessary.
• Change the rest of the characters in the same way.
3 Select [OK] and then select [X].
• Select [Cancel] to close the screen without changing the user bit.
