The equipment must be transported and stored vertically only.
Local or country-specifi c regulations must be observed, such as the inspection and
acceptance of the heating installation before commissioning as well as the permission of
the energy supplier for the connection.
The inspection must be performed by a qualifi ed technician and documented accordingly.
If the heat pump is replaced, the installation may have to be inspected and accepted again
if necessary.
The heat pump has to be placed outdoors, securely fi xed on a solid, preferably concrete base.
While operating, large amounts of condensate and defrost water may be produced, which
should be directed through the drain hole in the bottom of the heat pump into a frost-proof
water outlet or drain. In order to ensure the water draining from the unit, the heat pump
should be put up with a slight incline towards the drain nozzle.
The unit must be protected against large accumulations of snow and ice. The unimpeded
draining of the water from the unit must be ensured under any weather condition. When
installing the heat pump, please make sure that condensate and defrost water from the air
outlet opening will not directly fl ow onto paths. There may be the danger of slipping due
to wetness or ice formation.
Minimum clearances must be kept towards noise-sensitive areas as shown in chapter 3.1.4.
Under certain conditions, sound directions and reinforcing refl ections on smooth surfaces
must be considered additionally.
The heat pump should be preferably placed in front of a wall to protect against wind impact
on the suction side of the unit. The minimum clearances specifi ed in the illustration must be
observed. In order to avoid impaired effi ciency, outdoor air must not be recirculated into the
unit. Air should not be drawn in against the main wind direction.
When mounted on wall or fl oor brackets, the use of vibration dampers in the fi xing points is
recommended to reduce the transmission of structure-borne sound.
