Chapter 2 Preparations

1.9.3 Installation

Install a PCI card to the PCI riser card in the following procedure.
1. Refer to steps 1 to 3 in Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2. Remove the three screw securing the rise card. Hold the both ends of the PCI riser card and lift it straight
to remove it.
3. Confirm the slot to install a card with the reference to the table on 1.9.2 Supported cards and available
slots.
4. Remove a screw from the PCI rise card and remove the blank cover.
5. Install a PCI card to the PCI riser card.
When installing the card, position the terminal part of the PCI card to the PCI riser card slot and insert it.

Important When installing a PCI card, make sure the connector of the board fits the connector
of the riser card.
Note
• Check the card type (Low Profile) which respective PCI riser card supports and the
type of PCI card to be installed.
• If the battery for RAID controller is installed, refer to Chapter 2 (1.11 Battery for RAID
Controller).
Blank cover
Note
Keep the removed blank cover for future use.
Important Do not touch the terminal part of riser cards or PCI cards and the signal pins of
electric parts installed on the board. Installing boards with dirt or oil can cause
malfunction.
