7.4 Adjusting Lift Rods

Adjust the link rods until cutter is at least 3/4" lower
in the rear that than the front. To lower the front,
lengthen the lift rods and to raise the front shorten
the rods.
IMPORTANT: Adjust the lift rods the same amount
and maintain equal tension in the rods. Improper
adjustment may cause rods to snap or bend.
NOTE: Set the front skid shoes onto a couple of
blocks to make it easier to adjust the rear nuts.
To raise the front of the center frame, back off nut
"A" and tighten "B" until the correct deck pitch is
achieved. Retighten nut "A". To raise the front of the
wing, tighten the turnbuckle until the wing pitch
matches the center section.
To lower the front of the center frame, back off nut
"A" and loosen nut "B" until the correct deck pitch is
achieved. Retighten nut "A". To lower the front of
the wing, loosen the turnbuckle until the wing pitch
matches the center section.
Operating the mower with the rear of the deck slightly lower than the front provides better suction, lifting the
grass and creating a clean cut with less windrowing. For heavier applications, the front of the mower may need
to be raised an additional 1/2" - 1".

8. DRIVELINE ATTACHMENT

Connect the universal joint assembly to the
tractor PTO. Align the quick disconnect yoke
splines with the tractor PTO splines. Twist the
lock collar and slide the yoke into place. Twist the
collar back to lock on the PTO shaft.
IMPORTANT: Pull and push on the quick
disconnect yoke several times to ensure that the
yoke is connected to the PTO shaft.
Attach the safety chain at both ends. Allow
sufficient slack for turning.
Swing the PTO support down, and out of the way
so it does not interfere with the driveline during
operation. Failing to do so could cause severe
damage to your driveline. OPS-R-0003_E
When attaching the PTO yoke to the Tractor PTO shaft, it is important that the spring
activated locking collar slides freely and the locking balls are seated securely in the groove
of the PTO shaft. A driveline not attached correctly to the Tractor PTO shaft could slip off and
result in personal injury and damage to the cutter.
