8.1.2 Aedex Command Set
The default is on pass-through mode. All data codes will be by-pass to the peripheral device
except the following commands.
1. Top Line - Alphanumeric <21> <23> <31> <Data> <0D>
The characters will be displayed on the top line of the pole display.
2. Bottom Line – Alphanumeric <21> <23> <32> <Data> <0D>
The characters will be displayed on the bottom line of the pole display.
3. Alphanumeric Message Scroll <21> <23> <34> <Data> <0D>
A continuous scrolling message of up to 45 characters will be shown on the first line of
the display.
4. Time Display <21> <23> <35> <h><h> <3A> <m><m> <0D>
This command will place the time value on the bottom line of the display.
Where: { hh:mm } corresponds to hours and minutes in ASCII format, and separated for
double point <3A>.
5. One Time Alphanumeric Message Scroll <21> <23> <36> <Data> <0D>
A onetime message of up to 45 characters will scroll once on the top line.
6. Disable Character Trapping <21> <23> <37> <Data> <0D>

7. Change Attention Code <21> <23> <38> <H1> <H2> <0D>
This command allows the standard attention codes (<21> <23>) to be changed to another
set of codes (<H1> <H2>).
8. Send Up to 40 Alphanumeric Characters <21> <23> <39> <Data> <0D>
This command allows up to 40 characters to be sent to the display in one long string on
both lines.
9. Reset display <21> <23> <41> <0D>
All characters are erased and all settings are returned to the power-on reset conditions.
<Data>:
No more than 45 characters.
