DENSITY This key is used for setting doubles detection sensitivity by denomination. This key is used for setting a Strap Limit at any preset value (5, 10, 20, 25, 50, STRAP 75, 100 or infinity).

    To adjust the sensitivity for food stamps when in COUNT mode, follow the same procedure used to set up for currency. Setting SD Detection If your JetCount is equipped to detect counterfeit currency (models 4021 and 4022) Suspect Document Detection is enabled by pressing SD. Be sure SD is set to ON in the Key Lockout Setup Field.

    To set individual sensitivity levels for UV, Fluorescence and Magnetics, press and hold down SD for 2-3 seconds. Press KEY 4 to set sensitivity settings to LOW, MED or HI for COUNT mode. In VALUE mode, each denomination ($1-$100) may be set independently to LOW, MED or HI.

    Printed Reports Port 1 or 2 on the back of the JetCount (find the connectors in the lower right corner when facing the front of the machine) is designed for the connection of a printer. The printer can be enabled or disabled during the setup process.

  • Page 18: How To Use Count Mode

    How to Use Count Mode Count mode counts any currency, food stamps, etc., that fit the hopper size. In this mode, JetCount is only counting “slips of paper” (no currency scanning is taking place). Therefore, the COUNT total reflects the number of pieces. When the ADD function is ON, JetCount will accumulate totals until RESET is pressed to clear count totals.

    Direct Access Strapping The optional Direct Access Strapping keys give the operator direct access to preset strap limits.     In this case, the display reads: Strap Density Denomination COUNT Count Speed Removing notes from the stacker resets the Batch count to zero and, if a printer is enabled, a Batch Report automatically prints. Reaching a Strap Limit also resets the Batch count to zero. Batch counts may be manually reset to zero by pressing RESET.

    How to Use Value Mode JetCount can be used to process any document or note that fits in the hopper. It can also be used to process U.S. currency if the machine is equipped with VALUE mode. Because JetCount does not “read” the note’s value, it is necessary to preset JetCount before processing currency.

    The optional Direct Access Strapping keys give the operator direct access to preset Strap Limits. To set a strap limit of 50, press a strap key of 50 to produce this screen: Strap Density Denomination Count Speed Place currency in the hopper and JetCount will begin counting each note. The machine will add the value of all the notes based on the chosen denomination key.

    Special Mode Menu Both external ports ARE NOT compatible with phones or network connections, including Ethernet devices. Never plug a phone or network connection, including Ethernet devices, into either external port. Equipment damage may occur. These special modes only should be accessed by trained personnel. Incorrect use can negatively impact operation of the JetCount.

    Default Type Because JetCount can be used in a number of different working environments, it is built with two pre-programmed default settings: a “Factory” setting and a “User” setting. The “User” setting allows you to customize the machine’s default settings. After all necessary fields have been changed, be sure Default Type is set to USER and default the machine in Special Modes Menu to save the new settings.

    Reference Daily Cleaning Procedures Daily cleaning of the JetCount is recommended to ensure maximum productivity and reliability, especially for high-volume applications, as well as for those processing highly circulated (dirty) notes. Recommended Cleaning Materials Simple Green, the recommended cleaning agent, can be an eye irritant. Avoid eye contact.
  • Page 35 Turn power OFF (rocker panel to 0). Disconnect power cord from the back of the JetCount. Raise hopper. Remove feeder plate as shown below. Use a microfiber towel to clean the black start sensor at the top, middle of the feeder plate, as identified at left. Use a Simple Green Safety Towel to remove dirt buildup from the upper and lower aluminum rollers.
  • Page 36 If there is heavy buildup on the aluminum rollers, remove it with a clean, soft eraser as shown. Use a Simple Green Safety Towel to clean all rubber sections of the large, black feed rollers. Rotate the rollers. Also clean the flat, center rubber-drive tire, as identified at left. Use a microfiber towel or vacuum to remove any remaining dust in the bottom stacker.

    Stopping Conditions and Recovery Steps The following conditions cause the machine to stop and require action by the user. Condition Description Documents are fed from the top hopper to the stacker until the hopper is empty. NORMAL “TIME-OUT” The machine will “time-out” in 2 seconds and is ready for the next group of documents.
