Stopping Conditions and Recovery Steps

The following conditions cause the machine to stop and require action by the user.
Condition
NORMAL "TIME-OUT"
STRAP LIMIT
SUSPECT DOCUMENT
JAM
Documents are fed from the top hopper to the stacker until the hopper is empty.
The machine will "time-out" in 2 seconds and is ready for the next group of
documents.
The machine has reached a Strap Limit. The machine will stop, and the display
will read STRAP LIMIT. Remove the notes from the stacker and the machine will
automatically clear the Count (unless the ADD key is enabled) and will continue
counting, provided there are still notes in the machine.
For machines equipped with Magnetic or UV/FL, the machine will stop for a
suspect note. The machine will stop and toggle between two screens:
• "SUSPECT DOCUMENT." "M" indicates Magnetic, "FL" represents
Fluorescence, and "U" represents UV.
• "CHECK NOTE/PRESS KEY 1."
Remove the "suspect" note from the stacker and press RESET. The machine will
continue processing from the previous note count, prior to the suspect note
occurrence, with no impact on the Total count.
If a possible counterfeit note is stopped, and it is the second to the last note in
the hopper, the machine will stop and indicate "SUSPECT DOCUMENT" and
"CHECK NOTE/PRESS KEY 1." The recovery procedure described above should be
followed.
However, if the operator removes the notes in the stacker, without pressing
RESET (KEY 1), and the hopper is empty, JetCount will beep three times and flush
the last note out of the machine. The machine will add that last note, but the
total will not include the counterfeit note.
The machine has jammed. The display will read TRANSPORT JAM DETECTED.
To resume processing:
1) Remove the jammed note(s) to clear the jam.
2) Once the jam is cleared, remove the notes from the hopper and press RESET
(KEY 1) to flush the machine. The Strap, Denomination and Batch counts will
revert to the values that existed prior to the run that caused the jam.
3) Remove the documents from the stacker and feed all documents into the
machine.
