During the test, the current state of the electronic switch is reversed.
1. Make sure no undesired switching processes are triggered!
2. Wet approach (change the level or removal/installation with medium with a similar
density and viscosity) with PTC ≥ 97%
3. Check the switch point (removal/installation with water under reference operating
conditions) with PTC ≥ 97%
4. Simulation (externally on the device or at switching unit) with PTC ≥ 50%.
5. If the functional test has been activated by simulation, this is indicated by the three
LEDs (red, yellow and green) lighting up one after the other (chaser light).
6. Hold the test magnet against the marking on the nameplate on the outside.
 The switch status is changed.
The red and green LED flash alternately.
The device switches to the normal operational state after ~2 s.

Functional test using the button on the electronic insert

• When the test button is pressed, the output switches to the safety-oriented state and the
device performs a self-test.
• The test is completed after approx. 10 seconds and the device switches back to the
normal operating mode if it passes the internal test.
• The LEDs flash one after another as a chaser light during the functional test.
• The functional test can only be performed when the device is in the "OK" state
• If the housing cannot be opened during operation due to explosion protection
requirements, for example, (e.g.  EX d /XP), the functional test can also be performed
from the outside using the test magnet (FEL61, FEL62, FEL64/DC, FEL68). In the case
of Nivotester FTL325P/N, the functional test for the PFM (FEL67) and Namur (FEL68)
electronics can be started from the control room.
1. Make sure no undesired switching processes are triggered!
2. Wet approach (change the level or removal/installation with medium with a similar
density and viscosity) with PTC ≥ 97%
3. Check the switch point (removal/installation with water under reference operating
conditions) with PTC ≥ 97%
4. Simulation (internally or at switching unit) with PTC ≥ 50%.
5. If the proof-test has been activated by simulation, this is indicated by the three LEDs
(red, yellow and green) lighting up one after the other (chaser light).
6. Press the button marked "T" on the electronic insert for at least 3 seconds (e.g. with a
screwdriver).
 The red and green LED flash alternately.
The device switches to the normal operational state after ~2 s.
