3) Set the timing mark of camshaft gear
assembly (1) to that of crankshaft gear (2).
4) Measure the end play of camshaft gear
assembly (1) with tool L.
a The end play depends on the thick-
ness of the thrust plate and the
groove of the camshaft.
End play: Max. 0.5 mm

5) Measure the backlash of camshaft gear
assembly (1) with tool L.
Backlash: 0.2 ± 0.125 mm

Install water pump (1).

Mounting bolt:
11. Supply pump gear
Set timing mark "00" of supply pump drive gear
(2) to timing mark "0" of camshaft gear assem-
bly (1).
24 ± 4 Nm {2.4 ± 0.4 kgm}
