General causes why engine turns but no exhaust smoke
comes out
Fuel is not being supplied

Supply of fuel is extremely small

Improper selection of fuel (particularly in winter)

Confirm recent repair history
Degree of use of machine
Exhaust smoke suddenly stopped coming out (when starting again)
Replacement of filters has not been carried out according to Operation and
Maintenance Manual
When fuel tank is inspected, it is found to be empty
Air breather hole of fuel tank cap is clogged
Rust and water are found when fuel tank is drained
When fuel filter is removed, there is not fuel in it
Fuel is leaking from fuel piping
While engine is cranked with
starting motor,
Inspect fuel filter directly
Inspect feed pump directly
Carry out troubleshooting according to "No-pressure feed by supply pump
(*1)" in E-mode
Carry out troubleshooting according to "Abnormality in supply pump IMV
(IMA) (*2)" in E-mode
Carry out troubleshooting according to "Abnormality in electric lift pump
(*3)" in E-mode
Inspect overflow valve directly
Engine can be started in reduced cylinder mode
Fuel flows out when pressure limiter return piping is disconnected

*2: Code [271/CA271] and code [272/CA272] in E-mode
*3: Code [2265/CA2265] and code [2266/CA2266] in E-mode

Operated for long period
If air bleeding plug of fuel filter is
removed, fuel does not flow out
If spill hose from injector is discon-
nected, little fuel spills
