2 Pad replacement
D - Fitting New Pads
De-adjust the brake until, with the housing pulled across, there is
a sufficient aperture to fit the outboard pad. Fit the new outboard
pad. - Fig. 10
Push the housing back towards the rotor until the new pad
contacts the rotor face. Continue to de-adjust the brake until the
aperture gap between the Piston Heads and the rotor face is large
enough to accept the new inboard pad. With the brake fully de-
adjusted it may be necessary to lift the tappet excluder to release
any trapped air that may be inflating the excluder - Fig. 11
Fit the inboard pad.
Refit both pad springs ensuring that they are correctly located in
the pad back plates.
Refit the pad retaining screw and torque to 33-40Nm. Fig. 15
Manual adjust brake
To adjust the brake, locate a 10mm socket on the adjuster stem
(17) and turn it clockwise viewed from the air actuator side.
Continue to adjust the brake until the pads lightly grip the rotor.
De-adjust the brake by 1/2 a turn of the spanner. Ensure the rotor
is free to turn.
NOTE
: de-adjustment requires a higher torque than adjustment.
WARNING
Do not exceed 40Nm torque on the adjuster stem.
Refitting PWWI and Pad Strap
Carefully hold the pad retaining plate complete with PWWI in its
location to allow fitment of the plugs. Fig. 12
Fit the plastic blocks of the PWWI into the pads.
