Check that the insulator (3) around the centre
electrode of the spark plug is fawn. This is the ideal
colour when the vehicle is properly maintained and
operated.

NOTE
If the spark plug shows a different colour, this
could indicate a malfunction of the engine. Do not
diagnose such problems yourself. Please contact
your specialist dealer.
Check the spark plug for burning of the electrode
(4) and excessive charring or other deposits. If
necessary, replace the spark plug.
WARNING
Please note that no other spark plug model is
permitted. The use of a different spark plug model
can lead to engine damage in a short time.
Before reinserting the spark plug, check the electrode
gap and clean the spark plug with a dry cloth.

Insert the spark plug in reverse order.
WARNING
Please observe the maximum tightening torque
when inserting the spark plug.
If you have no way of checking this, leave this task to
the specialist dealer.

WARNING
The level of the engine oil must be checked each time
the tank is filled.
• Place the vehicle on the main stand, remove
the dipstick (1) and wipe it.
• Insert the dipstick (1), do not screw it in, take it
out again and check that the oil level is between
the upper (2) and lower (3) marks.
