11 Instructions for
exceptional operation
11.1 How to switch from ONVIF
communication mode to RS-485
(telemetry) mode
The P&T is by default set to communicate via ONVIF
protocol.
11.2 How to change
communication mode
Turn off the P&T.
Set the dip switches (7.3 Configuration, page 28).
Follow the procedure as shown:
baud rate: 38400 (ON ON ON OFF)
Protocol: MACRO (OFF OFF OFF OFF OFF ON ON ON)
Serial communication and telemetry address: RS-
485 half-duplex, address 1 (ON ON OFF OFF OFF
OFF OFF ON)
Turn on the P&T.
Set the browser address to <ip_address>/cgi-bin/
pc.cgi.

Change product part number: symbol N is replaced
by symbol Y. Example: From UPT2SVUAN00E to
UPT2SVUAY00E.
Click Send. Allow product restart.
Set the browser address to <ip_address>/cgi-bin/
pc.cgi to verify that the product part number was
actually changed. In case of failure repeat the
procedure from the beginning.
Turn off the P&T.
Switch the dip switches to OFF.

Set the serial communication of the P&T as required
by the camera. Set the serial communication dip
switches. (7.3 Configuration, page 28).
Connect the serial port of the camera to the P&T
connector.

Power the camera.

The P&T is now configured to communicate via serial
telemetry (RS-485).
