WARNING
Danger of eye injuries!
There is a danger of injury to the patient as a result of
changing the working distance using the motorized
adjustment of the ceiling mount if the working distance falls
below the minimum of 140 mm due to the use of accessories
(such as wide-angle observation systems).
The footswitch function for moving the ceiling mount
X
up and down may not be used in combination with
accessories that cause the working distance to fall below
the minimum of 140 mm.
Before up/down movements, always check first to
X
ensure that the range of movement is free of
obstructions.

7.11 Stand settings (F40, CT40)

7.11.1 Balancing the swing arm
WARNING
Risk of injury due to downward movement of the surgical
microscope!
Never change the accessories or attempt to rebalance
X
the microscope while it is above the field of operation.
After re-equipping, always rebalance the microscope on
X
the swing arm.
Release the swing arm (see below).
X
Hold the microscope by the handles.
X
Turn one handle to release the brakes (All Brakes).
X
Check whether the microscope drifts up or down.
X
Microscope drifts downwards:
Turn rotary knob (1) clockwise.
X
Microscope drifts upwards:
Turn rotary knob (1) counterclockwise.

7.11.2 Locking the swing arm
WARNING
Risk of injury due to downward movement of the surgical
microscope!
Always lock the swing arm:
X
• when transporting the microscope
• when re-equipping.
CAUTION
There is a risk of damage to the surgical microscope from
uncontrolled tilting!
Firmly hold the handles before triggering the "All
X
Brakes" function.
Pull the stop lever (2) and bring it into a vertical position.
X
Hold and turn one or both handles to release the brakes (All
X
Brakes).
Move the swing arm up and down until the transport lock
X
engages.
The swing arm is now locked.
7.11.3 Releasing the swing arm
CAUTION
There is a risk of damage to the surgical microscope from
uncontrolled tilting!
Firmly hold the handles before triggering the "All
X
Brakes" function.
Grip and turn one handle to release the brakes.
X
At the same time, pull the stop lever and bring it into a
X
horizontal position.
The swing arm is now released.
If necessary, rebalance the swing arm.
