As of STEP 7 Basic/Professional V16, the RF166C communications modules are integrated in
the TIA Portal. Integration into older STEP 7 versions and into 3rd-party systems is performed
via a GSD file. The communication module can then be configured via the TIA Portal or
another engineering system. The GSD file is stored on the communication module and can be
downloaded from it using a Web browser. You can also find the GSD file at the website of
