9. Tighten hinge to hood .serews on bath sides
and hinge reinforcement
to corner molding nut,

Loosen hinge to cowl screws on bath sides
and, with pins in Ineating holes, revolve hinges
thwnward slightly, just enough to secure the tighl
-
ness ur ''wrap" of the hood panel while maintoinlng
an eveti spacing between cowl and rear edge of
hood,

hinge to cowl scruwa
12, Three notches io hoed spring lower bracket
provide additional adjuatiltent of hood tightness or
wrap at die cowl when the hood.is eioaed, The noted

the front doer gives the greatest tight
ness of
he hood at the cowl, If hood is too tight in
this position, the spring shou d he moved to the
center or front notch, depending upon the lit desired.
b, Adjuitmont of Fenders to Hood and Doors
1. Loosen fender
mounting screws
at frarttc,
radiator support, end cowl.
2. Position fender ao that space between fenders
and ftood ma equal at front and rear and that the
hood and render are 5 r the same height in the area
where the fender is attached to radiator support,
NOTE:
The clearance hitween Ute door and
fender at the top sod bottom should also he
checked and adjusted at the same tithe to prevent
interference

Tighten render mounting screws,
4, Check
the
wedge
shaped rubber bumpers
attached to the fenders to see tlmt they are sup
porting the hood when it is in a closed position to
prevent metal to metal contact,

Removal and Installation of
Hood Spring
1. Open hood and prup as high as possible.
2. Using a pry bar of sufficient length to provide
ease of leverage, and a strong wire or 'look attached
to the bar as shown in Fig, 4-5, place bar under
lrame, below hoed spring, and engage hook er wire
on lower loop of 1w52d spring.
release pressure oil pry bar slowly, until spring is
loose, then unhook upper end of spring from hinge.
4. To install spring, engage upper end in position
on hinge and reverse above steps.
