Detaching the Draft Shield
9.1.1
Detaching the Analytical Draft Shield,
Weighing Pan, and Associated
Components
Material: 1 soft support base
Requirements
− The device is switched off.
− The device is disconnected from the power supply.
Procedure
Slide the side panels and upper panel all the way back
t
and out of the guide rails.
Place the side panels and the upper panel on a soft
t
surface.
If this relates to a device with a shield disk: Remove
t
the weighing pan, the pan support, and the shield disk.
If this relates to a device without a shield disk: Remove
t
the weighing pan and the pan support.
Loosen the screws on the
t
inner side of the side
panels by turning. This
allows the handles on the
side panels and the upper
panel to be removed.
CAUTION Glass
t
breakage due to incorrect
handling!

Procedure
9.2
Cleaning the Device
NOTICE
Corrosion or damage to the device due to unsuitable
cleaning agents.
Do not use corrosive, chloride-containing, or
t
aggressive cleaning agents.
Do not use cleaning agents that contain abrasive
t
ingredients, e.g. scouring agents, steel wool.
Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents.

Only use suitable cleaning agents (materials, see
t
Chapter "15.6 Materials", page 37) and observe the
product information for the cleaning agent used.
Procedure
NOTICE Malfunction or damage to the device due to
t
the ingress of moisture or dust.
Only slightly moisten cleaning materials, such as
t
cloths.
Remove dust and powdery sample residue with a
t
brush or hand-held vacuum cleaner.
Wipe the device and the associated components with
t
a slightly damp cloth. Use a mild soapy solution or a
suitable cleaning agent for more severe
contamination.
Remove the cover and
t
the round glass ring and
place on a soft surface.
Remove the weighing
t
pan, pan support, and the
base of the draft shield.
