4.1 INTRODUCTION

This chapter contains general flightline maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Troubleshooting is
intended to aid in isolating failures to a defective assembly.

4.2 CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS

No scheduled maintenance or scheduled overhaul is required to ensure continued airworthiness of the
CP-2500. Removal of components is on condition of failure.
The CP-2500 shall be maintained on a "Condition Monitored' basis. Functional monitoring is based upon
the following:
Visual observation by the user.
All units have unlimited service life, where service life is defined as that point in time when repair is
no longer economical.

4.2.1 Periodic Maintenance

Regular maintenance of the CP-2500 is not required except as included in this section and the practices
detailed in AC 43.13-1B, Chapter 11. At regular inspection intervals:
Check that mounting hardware is secure.
Check that cable connectors are properly mated and secured.
Check that connecting cables are not cut or pinched and not in contact with other items behind the
instrument panel.
Check the CP-2500 faceplate for cleanliness. The bezel, button and display glass can be cleaned with
a damp lint-free, static-free cloth. If necessary, clean with a soft cloth moistened with a mild solution
of soap and water. Care should be taken to avoid scratching the surface of the display or getting
water between the bezel and display or inside the buttons.

4.3 FAULT ISOLATION

Most problems associated with the CP-2500 causes the unit to fail the built-in test and can be checked by
running a Maintenance Self Test. Information available from these tests can help identify conditions that
need to be resolved. The CP-2500 will continue to operate if problems with the Lynx MSS are detected
and may cause invalidity messages to be seen on the CP-2500 display. Invalidities may self correct.
Detailed troubleshooting information is provided in the Lynx MSS Installation Manuals. Refer to the
References section located in the front of this manual for document part numbers.

4.4 RETURN TO SERVICE

To validate the return to service of the CP-2500 Control Panel follow the remove and replace procedures
provided below.
