2.3.2 Electrical Connections

1. The installer must consider the following before installation of the CP-2500.
Use of any wire or cable not meeting specification voids all warranties.
The installer is responsible for supplying wires, cables, and connectors.
All wiring must be in accordance with industry-accepted methods, techniques, and practices.
Wire-marking identification is at the discretion of the installer.
The length and routing of the wiring harness must be carefully studied and planned before
attempting installation of the equipment.
The wiring harness should not run adjacent to heaters, engine exhaust, and heat sources or be
located near fuel lines, high electrical capacity lines, flight control cables, and protected areas of
the aircraft or be exposed to wire chafing.
Cable runs should be as short as practical. Grounded pigtails must not exceed 3 inches in length.
All wires shall be 22 AWG. Use M22759 or equivalent wire and Tefzel Wire M27500 or
equivalent for twisted shielded wires for installation.
Installer is responsible for determining appropriate circuit breakers needed to protect aircraft
wiring. Manufacturer recommends a 1.0 amp circuit breaker. The CP-2500 can alternately share
a circuit breaker with the Lynx MSS. Refer to the installation manual for the Lynx MSS for
details (refer to references in front section for manual part numbers).
All connections are made through a single 15-pin Sub-D connector located at the rear of the
Control Panel. The connector (P/N 425-015-2052) and backshell (P/N 425-015-0003) are
supplied with the installation kit (see General Information section for details).
2. Refer to Figure 2-4 for pin locations. Connectors and contact pins for P1 are supplied in the
installation kit referred to in the General Information section. Connector installation tools are listed in
the General Information section.
3. Refer to Figure 2-5 for interconnect wiring information for NGT-1000/-2000/-2500. Refer to Figure
2-6 for interconnect wiring information for the NGT-9000R, RD, R+, and RD+.
4. It is recommended that the installer perform the following wiring checks during installation:
Check all wiring point-to-point for continuity before connecting components.
Ensure voltages are not applied to signal wires.
Inspect cables for correct connection.
5. Optional fail lamps are discussed in the referenced installation manuals for the NGT-9000 and
NGT-1000/-2000/-2500.
