PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
NOTE: Use engine oil with API classification SJ for gasoline engines and CF for diesel engines.
Gasoline Vehicles Only: Below 40°F (4°C), the use of SAE 30 may result in hard starting.
Gasoline Vehicles Only: Above 80°F (27°C), the use of 10W-30 may cause increased oil consumption.
Check oil level more frequently.
Using multi-grade oils (5W-20, 10W-30, and 10W-40) may increase oil consumption. If multi-grade oil is used, check
the oil level more frequently.

SPARK PLUGS

SPARK PLUG CLEANING AND INSPECTION

1.
Carefully pull the plug wire from the spark plug and remove the spark plug.
2.
If the plug is oily or has carbon built up on it, clean the plug using a high flash-point solvent and a wire brush or
other suitable tool.
3.
If the spark plug electrodes are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator is cracked, replace the plug with an
OEM replacement.
– Spark Plug Type: NGK BPR2ES

SPARK PLUG GAP INSPECTION

1.
Measure the gap with a wire-type thickness gauge.
2.
If the gap is incorrect, carefully bend the side electrode with a suitable tool to obtain the correct gap.
– Spark Plug Gap: 0.030 in. (0.75 mm)
