Active Lane Keeping
b b Vehicles with Lane Change Assist:
A
If the vehicle is equipped with Lane Change Assist
B
and this is active, a corrective steering intervention
C
warns the driver of a potentially critical situation
when changing lanes (information stage, warning
D
stage). This also happens if the turn signal is acti-
vated for the relevant direction. If the driver over-
E
rides the steering intervention, an additional warning
F
is provided via a warning tone (if Lane Keep Assist
and warning tone volume in the PC are activated).

Behavior if there is no steering activity
The driver's steering behavior is monitored when
I
Active Lane Keeping is switched on and active. If
J
there is no steering activity (e.g. hands not on the
steering wheel or only resting lightly), a warning ap-
K
pears on the instrument cluster. The system
L
prompts the driver to actively take over the steering.
If the driver does not react to the takeover prompt,
M
the system switches to a passive state. On vehicles
N
with active warning and brake function
may be decelerated to a standstill.
