12 Suggested Acceptance Test

• Visual Inspection Check device for transit damage.
• Touchscreen Turn the Clearway 2 on. Verify the operation of the
touchscreen. Check all parameter adjustments are possible.
• Functional Test Connect the outlet to a breathing circuit and test lung.
Switch the Clearway 2 on, select 'basic auto' mode and start the
treatment. Verify treatment cycles are delivered as programmed.
• Maximum Pressures Set as follows: Manual Mode, Insufflation to 70
cmH
O and Exsufflation to -70 cmH

circuit to the patient outlet. Ensure that the Clearway achieves the set
pressures on screen when the front switch is operated. External
verification may be carried out by connecting a manometer in line with
the test circuit. Measured plateau pressures shall be within ±3.5 cmH
of set point.
• Batteries If the Clearway 2 has a battery fitted ensure that the battery
icon is displayed and the Clearway 2 switches to battery power when the
AC mains is disconnected. The LEDs on the left of the screen must
indicate the power source. The battery LED will flash when charging.
• Mains Fail Alarm With internal and or external batteries removed.
Disconnect the AC mains cable when the Clearway 2 is powered on, the
mains fail alarm shall operate, it may be muted with the power button
after the second 'beep'.
• Electrical Safety Test Clearway 2 is a Class II, type BF device.
