Replacing the Fuse

Inspect the shipping container for damage. If the container or
cushioning material is damaged, keep it until the contents of the
shipment have been checked for complet,eness and the instrument has
been verified both mechanically and electrically.
To avoid the hazard of electric shock, do not perform electrical
tests when there are signs of shipping damage to any part of the
instrument's outer covers or panels.
If the contents are incomplete, or there is mechanical damage, or if
does
the instrument
not pass the Performance Tests in Chapter 3,
notify the nearest Hewlett-Packard office. Keep the shipping materials
for inspection by the carrier. The HP office will arrange for repair or
replacement without awaiting settlement.
BEFORE APPLYING AC LINE POWER TO THE HP 8114A, ensure that
the correct line fuse is installed in the fuse holder and the correct
power cable is fitted.
The HP 8114A can operate from any single-phase AC power source
supplying 100 - 240 V in the frequency range from 50 to 60 Hz , or
100 - 120 V at 400 Hz. The maximum power consumption is 500 VA
with al1 options installed.

1. Remove the power cord.
2. Unscrew the fuse-holder at the rear of the instrument beside the
power-inlet socket.
3. Replace the fuse with the equivalent part (See Table l-l).
4. Refit the fuse-holder.
