OPERATING THE DEVICE
Note:
Only use the Promed HGP-50 on a wrist.
Applying the cuff
1.
Apply the cuff with its Velcro facing downwards on the wrist in a
way that the display is on the inside of the arm. Ensure that there
is no clothing between the cuff and the wrist. Each item of clothing
which fits close to the arm must be removed.
2.
Ensure that the lower edge of the cuff has a distance of approx. 1cm
to the lower edge of the palm.
3.
Secure the cuff using the Velcro in a way that it is positioned
comfortably and not too tight.
4.
Lay your elbow on a table (with the palm facing upwards) so that the
cuff is on the same height as the heart.
Please note:
If it is not possible to put the arm cuff on the left arm, it can also be placed on the right side.
All measurements should, however, be carried out on the same arm.
Measurement
As soon as the cuff is suitably positioned, you can start the measurement.
Before you can start measuring your blood pressure, you must select the respective use by
pressing the Set button (B).
Now press the Start/Stop button (A) in order to confirm the selection and to start the
measurement.
For a period of 3 seconds, all symbols are shown on the display.
Afterwards, the display shows the value "00". The device is now ready
to carry out a measurement and automatically starts inflating the cuff.
As soon as the device has built up sufficient pressure within the cuff,
it automatically stops inflating and starts deflating the air. The actual
measuring process starts.
As soon as the device can measure a pulse beat, this is indicated by a flashing pulse beat
display
(8).
