7. To remove the bearings (29), clamp the
EZY–OUT in a vise, as shown in Fig 17.
Turn the housing (5) in the direction shown
by the arrows.
8. Pull the seal (30) out of the housing (5), us-
ing a pick. Repeat for the other side. See
Fig 17.
9. Clean all parts and inspect for wear or
damage. Replace parts as needed. Reas-
semble in the reverse order , following all
notes and information given in Fig 16.
10. Install the new u–cup seals (30*) so the
lips of the seals face out of the housing (5).
Install the bearings (29*) so the holes face
out of the housing. See Fig 17.
11. Install the rod (18).
12. Assemble the diaphragm (12*),
phragm (51*, Models 220–617 and
223–154 only ), and diaphragm plates (24
and 13) as shown in Fig 18. These parts
must be assembled correctly.
13. Torque the diaphragm plates (13) into the
diaphragm rod (18) to 4–5 ft–lb (5.4–6.8
N.m). Continue reassembling the pump,
following the notes in Fig 16. Make sure
the manifolds (2) are installed in the de-
sired position.
14. When tightening the clamps (6), be sure to
tighten the bolts (14) and nuts (15) on both
sides. The grounding strip (45) must be re-
moved to do this. T orque to 6–10 ft–lb
(8–14 N.m), then reinstall the grounding
strip.
