Director Valve

NOTE: A complete air director valve assembly
number 223–178 (224–015 for Model 223–747
only), is available. To replace the valve as a com-
plete assembly, follow steps 1 and 2, install the
new valve and reassemble the pump. To replace
individual parts, follow this entire procedure.
NOTE: Repair Kit 221–090 is available for the director
valve. See page 30. Parts included in the kit are
marked with a dagger symbol, for example
(101 ). Use all the parts in the kit for the best
results.
1. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure Warning on
page 12.
2. To remove the director valve, remove the nuts (38)
and bolts (7). Remove the gaskets (20 and 39) and
exhaust cover (25). See Fig 14.
3. Remove the retaining ring (114) from one end of the
director valve. Insert a screwdriver or similar tool
through the hole (D) in the cylinder (1 13) and work
the cylinder free. See Fig 15. Repeat for the other
end.
