To open the tailgate: pull the handle on

the tailgate.
To stop the opening procedure at the

desired position: press the closing button
( page 105) in the tailgate or pull the han-

dle on the outside of the tailgate again.
To store the position: press and hold the
X
closing button in the tailgate until you hear
a short tone.
The opening angle limiter is activated. The
tailgate then stops in the stored position
when opened.
Deactivating

General notes
! The tailgate swings upwards and to the
rear when opened. Therefore, make sure
that there is sufficient clearance above and
behind the tailgate.

To unlock the tailgate: slide locking

To open: pull the top of handle :.

Lift the tailgate upwards.

To lock the tailgate: slide locking catch ;

Unlocking the boot (Saloon)
! The boot lid swings upwards when
opened. Therefore, make sure that there is
sufficient clearance above the boot lid.
If the boot cannot be unlocked with the key or
KEYLESS-GO, use the emergency key ele-
ment.
If you use the emergency key element to
unlock and open the boot lid, the anti-theft
alarm system will be triggered (
Take the emergency key element out of the

key ( page 97).

Insert the emergency key element into the
X
boot lid lock as far as the stop.
Turn the emergency key element from posi-

tion 1 anti-clockwise as far as it will go to
position 2.
The boot is unlocked.
Turn the emergency key element back to

position 1 and remove it.
Insert the emergency key element into the
