The cash drawer is connected to the main unit by a thin cable that enables automatic opening.
The cable/connector combination allows for simple disconnection and movement. The cash
drawer supplied can also be opened manually using the removable key. There is a removable
coin tray and double clips on the note compartment.

Cashier display

A 640 × 480 VGA DSTN touch sensitive display is supplied
with the POS-4000 allowing a substantial amount of infor-
mation to be shown on the screen.

Optional external customer display

Barcode readers

SRAM and Flash memory expansions

The design of the POS-4000 facilitates simple memory
expansion by just replacing the SRAM memory module
with a module of greater capacity or by in-
stalling additional SRAM modules.
Only an authorised service techni-
cian should perform the exchange of
memory modules.

Communication adapter

The POS-4000 is able to communicate with a PC via modem, standard or wireless network if
equipped with proper PCMCIA devices. Wireless networking has its advantages in its speed,

An external customer display is a supplement to the internal custo-
mer display that is built into the body of POS-4000. The external
display is placed so that its digits are clearly visible to the customer
allowing more detail and more impact as well as flexibility of posi-
tioning.

IrDA

Infrared interface (IrDA) is convenient if data is frequently transfer-
red between the unit and a PC and neither the unit nor the PC is
connected to common computer network. This can save on equip-
