Selling multiple units of one item

Selling multiples of a single item is undertaken as follows:
enter the purchased amount
press the Multiply button
sell the article
In some situations it can be more convenient to use the facility that allows twofold multipli-
cation. An example is when a consumer buys lemonade that is sold individually and also in
six-packs. In this case the PLU is programmed for a bottle of lemonade and the purchase of
three lemonade six-packs follows this procedure:
enter number of purchased packs
press Multiply key
enter number of items per pack
press Multiply key
sell the article

Selling fractional items

A fractional item is one that is measured during sale (measured in kilos, metres, or litres) and
its PLU is programmed with the fraction flag on. Typical examples are fruit/vegetables, cloth,
or petrol. Sales using the electronic scales are a specific issue that is described in a separate
subchapter. The fractional sale without using electronic scales follows this procedure:
