1. MOUNTING
Transducer protrusion
If the hull is not level within 15° in any direction, install the transducer so that it pro-
trudes from the hull, to keep the transducer face parallel with the water line, not with
the hull.
This installation method has a merit for avoiding the bubbles by diverting turbulent wa-
ter around the sides of the transducer rather than over its face. However, it may cause
damage to the transducer during trailering, launching, hauling, and storage.
Transducer preparation
Before putting your boat in water, wipe the face of the transducer thoroughly with a
liquid detergent. This will lessen the time necessary for the transducer to have good
contact with the water. Otherwise the time required for complete "saturation" will be
lengthened and performance will be reduced.
DO NOT paint the transducer. Performance will be affected.
1.2.4
How to install a triducer
DO NOT over-tighten screws, to prevent damage to the transducer.
