7.3.3 General Settings
This menu allows you to manage the basic system settings of your receiver.
It consists of the following sub-menus: Standby Mode, Auto Standby and Auto Channel Update.
7.3.3.1 Standby Mode
You can select Active, Passive or Active+Passive mode. In Passive mode the unit will start up within
about 3 seconds from standby mode. Set to Active mode, it will take about 35 seconds. Per default
the Active+Passive combination is set so a short press on the q button of your remote will set the
unit to Passive standby; a long press (1 second) on q will set the unit to Active standby mode. It is
recommended to set your receiver to Passive Standby mode every now and then, to refresh all data
and keep your unit up-to-date. In active standby mode, the power consumption is less than 1 Watt, in
passive, less than 6 Watt.
7.3.3.2 Auto Standby
Auto Standby is a new feature that helps you reducing power consumption.
Press pq to highlight the menu Auto Standby and press OK advance.
When set to between 1 to 6 Hours, the receiver will switch to standby if it doesn't receive any
commands of the remote control during this time. Set Auto Standby to Off to deactivate the
automatic standby function.
7.3.3.3 Auto Channel Update
If this function is switched On, the unit will check if new channels are available before your receiver is
switching to standby. When switching on the next time, you will be informed if new channels are on
air and prompted to start an auto scan. This function allows you to keep the channel list up-to-date
always. If you select Off, the automatic channel update function is deactivated and you'll be enabled
to use the Delete function in the TV Manager.
7.3.3.4 Logical Channel Numbering
This receiver supports Logical Channel Numbering (LCN). This means that the channel numbers
are operator defined and automatically sorted into the main channel list. Sorting in the main list is
