PROBLEM
HYDRAULIC - DEPTH CONTROL
VALVE NOT WORKING
WHEEL BEARING FAILURE
HARROW PLUGS WITH RESIDUE

HARROW REELS WILL NOT TURN OR
PUSH SOIL
PROBABLE CAUSE
Hydraulic hoses not properly connected
Depth stop contacts depth control valve,
but does not shut off oil.
Implement raises, but will not lower
Seals not properly installed
Harrow set too aggressive
Harrow spring pressure excessive
Excessive down pressure
Depth set too deep for loose or wet
conditions
Reel bearing failure
Double Reel -Front Reel set too low
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
SOLUTION
Check hose connections
Check for correct valve plumbing
Check for valve leaking internally.
Check valve or manifold for incorrect
plumbing.
Triple-lip seals should be installed with
lips pointing outward away from the
hub.
Reduce tine/tooth angle to allow residue
to flow thru harrow
Reduce spring pressure/raise harrow.
Reduce spring pressure/raise harrow.
Adjust reel operating depth
Repair reel bearing.
Adjust reel pitch with front reel slightly
higher
