Cause
Too much drill bit is sticking out of
the end of the chuck.
Solution
Realign the bit. During the re-align-
ment process, be sure to keep the
White Triangle against the Cam Pin
as you insert the Chuck into the
Sharpening Port to set the depth of
the bit. The bit will move up inside
the Chuck, rotating slightly as it is
pushed into the Sharpening Port
during alignment. Push until the
Chuck is fully inserted into the Port.
Cause
Not enough rotations were made
while sharpening.
Solution
Cutting
Edge
Carefully repeat the alignment and
sharpening procedure, making sure
to use light pressure to keep the
Cam in contact with the Cam Guide
during sharpening. Be sure to fully
complete the sharpening cycle by
continuing to sharpen until there is
no more grinding noise.
Cause
Too much pressure during sharpening,
dirty Chuck, or Chuck not tightened
enough.
Solution
Use just enough pressure to keep
the Cam in contact with the Cam
Pin. If the bit continues to slip, clean
the Chuck as described in the Main-
tenance/Tips section of this manual.
