Responding to Messages and Light Indicators

When your ink or paper runs out or a problem occurs, a message appears on
the display. The lights on the control panel come on or flash. The following
table lists the messages alphabetically and includes an explanation and
instructions for correcting the problem.
Light
Explanation
Pause light on
Lower cover is open.
Ink Out light(s)
Ink cartridge(s) are nearly
flashing
empty (printing continues).
Ink Out light(s)
Ink cartridge(s) are empty
on
(printing stops).
Paper Out
Paper set lever is down while
light on
loading paper.
Paper Out
Paper source setting in print
light on
options is different from
control panel.
A printer part will need to be
replaced soon.
The waste ink system is
almost full.

Monitoring the Printer
Response
Close the lower cover. Make sure
both tabs are fastened. Restart print
job for best results.
Replace ink cartridge(s) indicated by
Ink Out light(s). See page 6-7 for
instructions.

instructions.
Pull the paper set lever up after you
load paper.
Make sure the right paper is loaded
and the paper source setting is the
same on the control panel and print
options.
Note the error number and contact
EPSON as described in the
Introduction.
Call an authorized EPSON servicer to
schedule replacement of the waste
ink system.
Install ink cartridges as indicated by
the lights. See page 6-7 for
instructions. (Message appears when
you are replacing the cartridge.)
