2.2 Intended purpose

The VORTEX is a holding chamber, and is used in conjunction
with medication sprays or "metered dose inhalers" in the treat-
ment of diseases of the airways.
The VORTEX Tracheo is equipped with a tracheal adapter. In
conjunction with the tracheal adapter, the VORTEX is suitable
for use by tracheostomised patients who are not able to inhale
through a mouthpiece.
The tracheal adapter is suitable for use with blocked (with cuff)
and unblocked tracheal cannulas. However, it must not be
used on an open tracheostomy.

2.3 Intended use

The VORTEX is a holding chamber which makes it easier to in-
hale from a metered dose inhaler.
The VORTEX Tracheo must not be used by tracheostomised
patients without professional instruction. It can be also be used
for babies and children under constant adult supervision.
Only medication that has been approved for inhalation treat-
ment must be used. Take note of any restrictions in the instruc-
tions for use of the medication in question.
In order to ensure proper treatment, please use only
PARI accessories.

2.4 Contraindications

There are no contraindications known to PARI GmbH.
