PICKUP ADJUSTMENTS
To adjust the pickup belts:
1. Loosen the 3 bearing bracket bolts.
2. Adjust the take up bolt located on both ends of the pickup
bottom idler roller making sure that each side is adjusted to
the same distance. Proper belt tension will be achieved when
the tighter of the 2 outer belts has a maximum of 1-1/2" of
slack by pulling in the center of the belts with minimal
resistance.
DO NOT tighten pickup belts excessively.
Over tightening the belts will cause damage to the belts or
rollers. Loose belts will cause unnecessary tooth wear and
breakage.
CROSS CONVEYOR BELT ADJUSTMENT
The cross conveyor belt tension can be adjusted by tightening the take up bolts located on the two rollers
located at the center of the machine. Proper tension may be achieved by compressing the springs to
approximately 3" to 3-1/4". If the cross conveyor belt shrinks, back the nut off to achieve the 3" to 3-1/2"
of tension between the washers. If there is no adjustment remaining, a dutchman (belt splice) that is
supplied with the Twin Merger can be installed.
Rear Cross Conveyor Adjustment
TAIL WHEEL
The tail wheels are located at the rear of the merger.
Located on each tail wheel pivot spindle is an
adjustable brake assembly. Adjust the brakes by
tightening the bolt (A). The brakes should have
enough tension to prevent zig-zag motion, but still
allow the wheel to pivot when making corners.
Improper adjustment will cause severe tire wear and
damage to the merger.
