PICKUP HEAD
Adjust the pickup head according to the height of the
stubble. The pickup height is adjusted by adjusting the
gauge wheels located at both sides of the pickup head.
Remove the FRONT (A) adjustment pin and place it in
the desired hole position above the gauge wheel arm.
Lower the head and check for the proper adjustment.
Repeat the process if necessary. Teeth should never
be closer than 3/4" from the ground. When the proper
adjustment is obtained, remove the REAR (B)pin and
place it in the hole as close as possible below the gauge
wheel arm to support the gauge wheel when raising
the head. Adjust both sides equally. Excessive tooth
wear and breakage will occur it the teeth are touching
the ground.
CROP ROLLER
Adjust the crop roller according to the capacity of the crop. The crop roller is adjusted by removing the
clip w/lanyard and pin (C) that is located at both sides of the pickup head. The diagram that is located on
each side of the head explains where to place the pins for different capacities of crop. When setting the
crop roller, the roller should act as a guide for the crop, barely touching it. If the roller is set too heavy and
presses the crop into the teeth, the crop will not release to the cross conveyor, and carry around to the
bottom side of the belt causing plugging of the machine.
