– Pull out ignition coils from spark plug hole.
Note
To pull off ignition coils with output stages, position puller -
♦
T40039- on uppermost thick rib of ignition coils.
If the lower ribs are used, they could be damaged.

– Unscrew spark plugs using spark plug socket and extension
-3122B- .
Installing:
– Screw in new spark plugs using spark plug socket and exten‐
sion -3122B- .

When installing new spark plugs, ignition coil with output stage
♦
must be regreased using spark plug connector grease -G 052
141 A2- .
New ignition coils with output stage are supplied greased and
♦
need no subsequent greasing.
– Apply a thin bead of spark plug connector grease -G 052 141
A2- on the circumference of the sealing hose of the ignition
coil with output stage -arrow-. The grease bead must be 1 to
2 mm thick.
– Insert all ignition coils loosely into spark plug hole.
– Align ignition coils to wiring connectors and push connectors
on ignition coils at same time.
– Press ignition coils equally onto spark plugs by hand (under
no circumstances use impact tools).
