Overview of gas discharge headlights and dynamic main beam
control „Dynamic Light Assist"
1 - Bulb for front left turn signal -M5- or bulb for front right left
turn signal -M7-
2 - Bulb for left parking light -M1- or bulb for right parking light
-M3- based on LED technology
3 - LEDs for daytime driving light and dimmed for parking light
4 - Left gas discharge bulb -L13- or right gas discharge bulb -
L14-
5 - Sidemarker: Either as screen; or US version of sidemarking
light SML based on LED technology and orange
Performing basic setting of headlight range control
Note
In hybrid vehicles, the engine cover has to be removed to ad‐

The headlight adjustment can only be performed with the dy‐

namic main beam test pattern.
– Connect vehicle diagnosis tester
– Switch on ignition.
– Select „Guided functions".
– Perform vehicle identification.
– 55 - Select headlight range control.
– Mark „Start basic setting" and confirm with ►.
– Observe notes displayed and confirm by selecting „Done".
– Adjust headlights as follows:
Adjusting left headlight
WARNING
In the case of hybrid vehicles, the hybrid-relevant components
in the working area must be visually inspected
In the event of conspicuous findings or uncertainties, contact
your responsible high-voltage technician or specialist electri‐
cian!
