62 INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
(fig. 6.2.1)
A) To properly install the smoke pipe between the insert
and smoke duct, it must be tight, and all joints must
be sealed.
B) Rear exterior air inlet, maintain a minimum distance
of 5 cm between the fireplace's housing and the pipe
supplying combustion air.
C) It is recommended to install a decompression grate
in the top part of the housing, as close to the ceiling
as possible.
D) The fireplace's housing material and load-bearing
structure must be non-flammable.
E) Insulation made of eco-friendly ceramic fibre or
mineral wool with aluminium film on the outside.
F) Wood elements should be insulated by flame-
resistant material.
G) Minimum distance of 1 cm between the housing and
the front of the insert.
H) The fireplace's housing should be made of non-
flammable material.
The instruction manual presents minimum distances in
centimetres, that should be maintained from flammable
objects and materials during installation of the insert.
Provide enough available space for maintenance
The fitter must have the Jøtul certificate, authorising
installation of appliances fired with solid fuel.
• If flammable structures or materials are found in the
rear part of the furnace, the minimum distance from
them must be 10 cm.
• Smoke pipes connecting the chimney insert with the
smoke duct must ensure tightness. The passage of the
smoke pipe through the wall must be made using a
smoke pass.
• If the insert is connected to a chimney flue previously
used by other fireplaces, it should be cleaned of soot in
order to limit restricted draught and prevent ignition of
accumulated deposits.
• Improper installation may endanger the safety of the
appliance.
• Qualified personnel must have access to zones inside
the appliance when it is not in use.
• The fireplace's housing must be made of non-flammable
materials, in such a way that all moving and electrified
parts are inaccessible to the user.
• Do not place any flammable objects or materials within
the area of the fireplace's radiation, particularly at a
distance of less than 1 m from the fireplace.
