How to Ins tall the Fl ex Plate
How to Install a Flex Plate
1
Install the flex plate onto the engine flywheel
with the rubber vibration isolators towards the
pump.

Use blue thread locking compound and torque
the flex plate mounting bolts in sequence to
28 ft-lbs / 38 Nm. Then torque the flex plate
mounting bolts in sequence to 40 ft-lbs / 54
Nm.

Apply a high viscosity coupling grease (Genie
part number 128025) to the splines of the
pump shaft and flex plate.

Install the pump plate and pump assembly
onto the engine.
Grease Specification
Shell Alvania® Grease CG, NLGI 0/1 or equivalent.

How to Install the Pump Plate
1
Using a suitable lifting device, install the pump
plate and pump assembly onto the engine.
2
Deutz engines: Torque the pump plate
mounting bolts in sequence to 23 ft-lbs / 31
Nm. Then torque the pump plate mounting
bolts in sequence to 47 ft-lbs / 63 Nm.

Perkins engines: Torque the pump plate
mounting bolts in sequence to 23 ft-lbs / 31
Nm. Then torque the pump plate mounting
bolts in sequence to 47 ft-lbs / 63 Nm.

Deutz TD2.9 pump plate
