MEANING
SInG
Single Mode – a single glue pattern cycle is performed upon trigger initiation. The glue pattern will
continue to its conclusion regardless of whether the trigger signal remains present.
RePt
Repeat Mode – a continuously repeating glue pattern is performed for as long as the trigger signal is
present. The final glue pattern will end immediately upon loss of the trigger signal.
The SinG Mode is the typical trigger mode for most pattern control equipment. The RePt
Mode can provide significant flexibility in gluing objects of varying lengths without the
need to reprogram the DPC-2.
EXAMPLE:
Assume the desire is to skip the first inch and last inch of each product and place a
continuous glue bead on the remainder of the product, regardless of product length.
Below are the steps to set-up this capability on the DPC-2.
1.
Install the glue applicators so they are located one inch from the trigger device
(typically an optical sensor) in the direction of product movement (i.e. the product
passes the sensor, then one inch later passes the glue applicator).
2.
Program a PRE-DELAY value of one inch (01.00); an EVENT 1 DELAY value
of one inch (01.00); and EVENT 1 LINE value of 1 inch (01.00). See the sections
in this chapter on setting these values.
3.
Set TRIG MODE to SinG.
4.
Properly set COMPENSATION values for the glue applicators (see the section in
this chapter on COMPENSATION).
5.
Set TRIG MODE to RePt.
6.
Program EVENT 1 LINE value to its maximum value (98.95).
Any length product that is 99.95 inches or less in length can now be glued with a leading
and trailing delay of one inch and continuous glue in between. Adjustments of the
separation distance between the trigger and glue applicator may be required (and
subsequent reprogramming of the PRE-DELAY value) depending upon machine speed
and the response capability of the glue applicator.

Lockout

Entering a value for LOCKOUT prevents the DPC-2 from double triggering on a product
that may have a window or heavy printing mark. It also avoids false triggering from scrap
material inadvertently passing under the optical sensor. The trigger device will be
deactivated for the value entered into LOCKOUT once an initial trigger input is received.
Always reset the LOCKOUT value when starting a new job.
1. Depress the SYSTEM button until the yellow LED to the left of LOCKOUT is
illuminated.
