Operating principle

NIMBUS HYBRID is a domestic hot water heating and
production system, made up of two generators:
- a condensing boiler,
- an air/water heat pump (HP) with external single block
inverter technology.
The two generators work in synergy thanks to an additional
module (HYBRID MODULE) that allows for hydraulic integration
of both generators with the heating system and with the
domestic hot water production system.
The HYBRID MODULE also contains the system management
electronics (ENERGY MANAGER), which optimises its operation.
The HYBRID MODULE thus guarantees:
- excellent comfort,
- increased performance,
- easy installation,
- optimal operating costs
- reliability
- low investment costs.
The two generators can work together or separately according
to the operating mode selected:
- minimum primary energy consumption (default),
- minimum operating costs.
For this purpose, the ENERGY MANAGER electronic board
continuously monitors the temperatures in the heating circuit:
the outdoor temperature, the ambient temperature, and the
delivery temperature to the system.
From these values it deduces the boiler effi ciency and the heat
pump COP.
In relation to the parameters initially set, the ENERGY MANAGER
decides which generator is the most suitable to heat the room.
The hybrid system also offers the ability to defi ne the limits of
operation of the boiler and the heat pump.
Heat pump minimum external operating temperature:
is the temperature below which the ENERGY MANAGER
prevents heat pump operation.
Boiler maximum external operating temperature:
is the temperature above which the ENERGY MANAGER
prevents boiler operation.
Within this temperature range, the ENERGY MANAGER decides
which generator is most convenient.
There are two installation solutions which differ in the domestic
hot water production system:
hybrid: hot water instantly produced exclusively from
combination type boilers
hybrid fl ex: hot water produced using a 180l tank, heated by
the heat pump and boiler according to the optimisation logic
described.
