Electric solenoid on pump
When the pump is turned on, the transmission electronic control unit (
vehicle speed and the engine RPM, and allows the pump to engage (or not). If the vehicle is going
faster than 15 mph (25 km/h) or if the engine speed exceeds 900 RPM, the pump will not engage.
After the pump is engaged, it will stay engaged at any engine speed under 2300 RPM.

Inspecting the Pump

The hydraulic pump is powered by the vehicle engine through a drive shaft. The pump should be
visually inspected every working day.

: On some units, the pump is directly installed on a PTO with no drive shaft between them.

When inspecting the pump:
1.
Start the engine and engage the hydraulic pump.
The pump should turn freely without excessive noise or vibrations.
2.
Open the cab grill (if necessary) to check for oil leaks under the pump and at connection points.
