3.2 TRAILER CONSTRUCTION

3.2.1 CHASSIS

Two versions of trailer chassis are available: tandem suspension and ,boogie suspension -
figure (3.1).
Lower frame (1) or (18) is of welded steel sections construction. The main support elements
of the frame are two longitudinal members connected with crossbars. In the middle section
there are sockets (5) used for mounting of the tipping ram cylinder. In front of the sockets of
the ram cylinder is mounted the load box support (6). At the rear of the frame there lugs
serving as pivot points during the tipping of the load box to the rear. Below there is a rear
hitch connector and hydraulic and pneumatic system connectors to connect the second
trailer. Under the hitch socket there is an under-run protective device (15). On both sides at
the rear of the frame lights support beams (7) are bolted and plastic wheel mudguards (16).
Axle system of the trailer consists of a tandem or bogie absorber suspension and two driving
axles (8). Depending on the equipment rigid rear wheel axle may be replaced with a steered
trailing axle, which improves the comfort of driving the tractor-trailer combination.
The tandem suspension consists of taper leaf springs (9) bound by a rocker arm (10). Axles
are secured to suspension springs using absorber plates and bolts. The entire assembly is
attached to the lower frame (1) by means of bolts.
A bogie suspension consists of leaf springs (19) bound by a rocker arm (20). Wheel axles are
attached to the springs with an absorber plate and blots. The entire assembly is attached to
the lower frame (18) by means of bolts. The suspension is equipped with hydraulic rear axle
swivel lock. (21).
In the front part of the of the undercarriage there is a sprung drawbar (2) to which a drawbar
is attached (available options: rotating drawbar eye ∅50 (11), ball drawbar K80 (12), fixed
drawbar ∅40 (13) or fixed drawbar ∅50 (14)). Drawbar is mounted on the lower frame by
bolts. At the side of the drawbar there is a hydraulic parking stand (3), or a mechanical
parking stand (22). Depending on the customers' requirements, the trailer may be equipped
with a simple support or mechanical support.
Parking brake crank mechanism (15) is located on the left side of the lower frame.
