Repairs, service and work performed on explosion-protected submersible motors

During repairs or other work, heed the safety regulations first, particularly the aspects relevant for explosion
protection as described above.
Who is allowed to repair EX-operating equipment?
Caution!
Repair measures may only be carried out by specially authorised persons or workshops with an officially
recognised "Qualified person".
Gap dimensions
Caution!
In the case of external repairs, information about the type approval and special conditions e.g. gap dimensions
must always be obtained. Gap surfaces may not be machined.
Maintenance intervals ball bearings
Caution!
In addition to the maintenance intervals specified in the operating instructions for non-explosion-protected
submersible motor pumps, the ball bearings must be replaced after 25 000 hours at the latest. Depending on the
operating mode of the submersible motor pumps, this period can be reached after a running time of approx. 4
years.
Spare parts
Caution!
When purchasing spare parts, only use the genuine parts specified in the enclosed bill of materials. The sealing
gaskets and cables in particular are made of temperature- and aging-resistant materials.
Be careful with wire connection after repairs!
The wires must be connected in accordance with the circuit diagram for the ex-protected submersible motor pump
to the ex-terminal board or a flameproof cable duct.

The pump characteristics and power data can be obtained online at www.kessel.de. The ratings are inscribed on
the pump nameplate so that the data is always on hand in the event of any queries.
