Power Supply
9. 1

Introduction

The extension power supply is used in combination
with a CCU to supply additional power to the DCN.
Note
The 'D' version is CSA/UL approved and has a
modified supply and a modified mains cord.
9.2
Controls, connectors and
indicators
9.2.1
Front view
The front of the extension power supply (see figure 9.1)
contains the following:
1 Power indicator - A green LED that is activated
when the mains cord has been connected to a mains
outlet, the trunk cable is connected to the system and
the CCU is switched on.

9.2.2
Rear view
The rear of the extension power supply (see figure 9.2)
contains the following:
2 DCN cable - A 2 m long cable to connect the
extension power supply to the system. The cable is
terminated with a moulded, male, 6-pole, circular
connector (see section 9.3.3).
3 DCN socket (trunk) - A female, 6-pole, circular
socket to loop-through the extension power supply in
the system. The socket has a red LED to indicate
overload situations (see section 9.3.3).
4 DCN sockets (tap-off) - Two female, 6-pole,
circular sockets to create tap-offs in the system. The
signal is automatically regenerated. Each socket has
a red LED to indicate overload situations (see
section 9.3.4).
5 Mains inlet - A socket to connect the extension
power supply to the mains (see section 9.3.2).
6 Fuse holder - A fuseholder with a fuse to protect
the power supply of the extension power supply (see
section 9.3.2).
