Mounting

The channel selector has been designed for
flush-mounting (see chapter 25).

Configuration

5.5.1
Introduction
The following channel selector functions can be
configured using solder spots on the PCB (see figure
5.9):
Auto stand-by (see section 5.5.2).
Auto increment/decrement volume (see
section 5.5.3).
Restore channel & volume (see section 5.5.4).
Caution
Use an anti-ESD bracelet to prevent
electrostatic discharges when handling the
printed circuit board.

5.5.2
Auto stand-by (X11)
The auto stand-by function of the channel selector can
be configured using solder spot X11 (see figure 5.9).

Solder spot
Description
Open
The auto stand-by function is
(default)
enabled. The channel selector is
deactivated when the headphones
are removed from the jack socket.
Closed
The auto stand-by function is
disabled. The channel selector
remains active when the
headphones are removed from the
jack socket.
The presence of the headphones is monitored by
measuring the impedance between pin 1 and pin 2 of all
headphones provisions (see also table 5.1). If it
is > 1 kΩ, it is assumed that the headphones are
disconnected.
Note
If the channel selector is used for recording
purposes, the X11 solder spot must be closed.
The input impedance of a recorder may be more
than 1 kΩ.
